City to Tear Down Roadside Memorials That Honor Accident Victims

For families who lost loved ones in accidents on the streets, roadside memorials bring them solace. That's about to change in Independence, Missouri. The city has decided to tear down all of the memorials will be torn down. Councilman Curt Dougherty, who is behind the move, called the memorials "eyesores" and distractions to other drivers. Instead, he has proposed city-made, metal signs with the
